Job Description
Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants to become a Stencil/Decal applicator at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Altoona PA.The Companys regulatory engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. Owned by the Marmon Group and Berkshire Hathaway UTLX headquarters is in Chicagos financial district close to major public transportation hubs. We are seeking a 3rd shift Stencil/Decal applicator for our paint rate of pay for this role will be $25.01-$26.01 plus an additional $1.50 shift differential when assigned to the 3rd shift.
Primary Job Functions
This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be required to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions.
- Cleans surfaces to be covered ensuring a smooth and even application.
- Ensures accuracy consistency and overall appearance of the finished work.
- Follows work instructions to ensure 100% accuracy of stencil/decal application.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Must possess a High School Diploma/GED; or have the ability to successfully complete an on-site basic skills assessment.
- Must have the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to climb and work at heights of approximately 18-20 feet.
- Moderate physical exertion required. Climbs walks and balances on top of car.
- Uses hand tools power tools and equipment.
- Exposed to dirt fumes smoke and heat. Work indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to the elements.
- Must follow prescribed safety rules to avoid possible injury.
