Our Strategic Asset Management Department is responsible for the centralised planning of Councils Civil and Parks Asset Management programs and oversees Councils assets including buildings active and passive open space areas (including sporting fields playgrounds parks) roads bridges footpaths and drainage. The Department also manages Councils legislated emergency management responsibilities and functions.
About the role
An exciting opportunity exists within the Strategic Asset Management Department for an experienced motivated and dedicated emergency management professional to join our Emergency Management team in the position of Emergency Management Officer and Deputy Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO).
In this position you will be responsible for supporting the Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO) in driving the development management and continuous improvement of emergency management policy responses services and programs with a focus on building resilience and minimising the impact that emergencies have on the Penrith Community.
You will also assist in supporting the Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) Local Emergency Operations Controller (LEOCON) and LEMC functional agency staff including maintaining the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at operational readiness for use during emergencies and providing operational and administrative support during emergencies as required.
This position will require flexibility in working additional hours before during and after disaster events at short notice in which an on-call allowance will be available. You may be required to work offsite and at the Emergency Operations Centre during a disaster event.
Essential criteria
Commencing salary: $112849.00 - $130626.00 per annum plus 11.5% Superannuation.
Access to a Leaseback Vehicle or Motor Vehicle Allowance is available with this position; however it is not a condition of employment.
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
