Senior Aeronautical Engineer Multi-Platform Air Vehicle Integration Lead

We re looking for a Senior Aeronautical Engineer to lead aircraft integration efforts turning digital designs into certified mission-ready systems that operate seamlessly across diverse airframes.
What You ll Do
Air Vehicle Integration & Architecture
- Serve as the go-to expert for integrating the Nomad system stack SATCOM components and platform interface modules (PIMs) into various military aircraft.
- Lead the creation and coordination of airworthiness documentation including AF Form 1067 in collaboration with System Program Offices OEMs and Flight Test Centers.
- Drive platform selection through form-factor evaluations SWaP C trade studies and integration feasibility assessments.
Digital Thread & Model-Based Engineering
- Own and evolve 3D CAD models and interface control definitions within a government-owned digital engineering environment.
- Provide real-time feedback to multidisciplinary teams and the broader architecture group to ensure alignment between digital and physical systems.
Lab Integration & System Testing
- Design aircraft-representative test fixtures and wiring configurations for use in the System Integration Lab (SIL).
- Manage environmental and functional testing (vibration thermal EMI/EMC) ahead of formal developmental and operational testing events.
Flight Test Support & Deployment
- Author test documentation risk analyses and Interim Authorizations to Test (IATT).
- Act as onboard or ground-based test engineer during flight test campaigns; drive post-test debriefs data analysis and iterative design improvements for future builds.
Program Oversight & Technical Leadership
- Track integration milestones and performance metrics against the Integrated Master Schedule; communicate readiness and risks to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of agile secure and forward-leaning hardware development.
What You ll Bring
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required due to program security requirements.
- Education & Experience: B.S. in Aerospace Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) with 10 years of experience in aircraft integration or modification military platforms highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in structural design/analysis (FEM) weight and balance harness design and MIL STD qualification processes.
- Lifecycle Knowledge: Experience supporting full system development lab test and fielding within USAF or DoD frameworks (e.g. AFI 63 101/20 101).
- Tools: Skilled with CREO CATIA NX or SolidWorks; exposure to MBSE tools (SysML/CAMEO) is a plus.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance required.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Hands-on experience with open-architecture programs such as ABMS CJADC2 OMS/UCI.
- Familiarity with SATCOM systems cross-domain solutions and cryptographic hardware.
- Past experience authoring or reviewing USAF airworthiness packages (AF 879 AFCB E-Series).
- Agile/Scrum or SAFe certifications and working knowledge of DevSecOps environments.
