We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Signs Manufacture Officer to join our team in Coolaroo. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality signs ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet our companys standards and brand specifications.
What youll be doing:
- Undertake the production of key Council printing requirements including but not limited to sign plates banners labels and window graphics.
- Operate and maintain wide format printer vinyl plotter guillotine sign-making equipment tools and laminator following manufacturer procedures and with due regard to personal safety and that of co-workers.
- Visit Council sites on request to evaluate and provide advice of sign requirements and solutions in line with Council guidelines and budget constraints.
- Provide cost effective quality signage production and installation in line with Hume branding within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Create and interpret technical drawings and specifications for sign production
- Select appropriate materials and techniques for each project
- Ensure quality control throughout the manufacturing process
- Implement and maintain safety protocols in the production area
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Stay updated on industry trends and new manufacturing technologies
The skills and experience youll bring to the role:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and proficient use of Digital Printers Plotters and multimedia software including; Illustrator Photoshop and other Adobe software.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative when delivering solutions that support Councils corporate identity.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal customers whilst working as part of multi-skilled team.
- Demonstrated skills in managing time setting priorities and planning and organising own work to achieve set objectives efficiently with available resources.
- Proven capacity to meet tight deadlines including the flexibility to adjust goals operationally when required.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator
- Strong knowledge of sign manufacturing processes and techniques
- Familiarity with various materials used in sign production
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Understanding of safety regulations and protocols in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of sign industry standards and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in sign manufacturing or a related field
- Trade Certificate or equivalent in sign writing/manufacture
