Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Head of Finance Operations to be responsible for leading and driving operational excellence within the Finance Operations team. This role partners closely with the MD and board members actively contributing to the senior management team to shape the financial strategy of the business unit.. 

Day to day duties include: 

  • End-to-end process ownership - Accountable for the adherence to the Finance Operating Model design principles which underpin end-to-end process ownership of Finance processes.
  • Financial Process Improvement Framework - Define the process improvement framework which ensures the continual review and optimisation of all finance processes including the robust updated documentation of these processes.
  • Requirement tracking - Accountable for the engagement with Finance and Business stakeholders so as to capture detailed requirements which will enable the specification of Finance related people process and technology changes within Finance. 
  • Change Management - Define and oversee the assessment methodology which validates the need for requested changes the impact on the end-to-end process(es) and the effort required to deliver always ensuring a balance between efficiency control and generation of value to the business. 
  • Co-ordination and prioritisation - Accountable for the change agenda and its constituent prioritisation of projects/initiatives supported with short to medium term scheduling and resource planning formulated through your engagement with the Finance Leadership.
  • Case for change - Accountable for the accurate detailing of specific cases for change within the prescribed Culina Group Business case template ensuring Finances requirements are clear and understood by all relevant stakeholders with any back-fill resource requirements formally submitted. 
  • Governance - Accountable for the effectiveness of the Finance Design Authority and other Finance Development owned meetings along with supporting mechanisms including change log change policies and guidelines whilst also responsible for aligning with Culina Group Change governance.
  • Project Management - Responsible for the effective delivery of projects within Finance including resourcing budget cost reporting and benefits tracking whilst accountable for ensuring appropriate change management readiness and adoption measures are in place.
  • Service Delivery - Accountable for the process of defining and maintaining Service Level Agreements including ensuring the ownership of these agreements by Finance Process Leads for processes which have customers internal and external to Finance.
  • Performance Tracking - Define tools and methodology with which to monitor the performance of processes as well as issue and resolution tracking so as to challenge the Finance Leadership on Finances performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communication and engagement - Define and develop an on-going programme which ensures a culture of continuous improvement within Finance underpinned by a coherent stakeholder engagement plan you are accountable for whilst being the Finance transformation ambassador at key senior-level meetings.
  • Training & Development - Responsible for the enhancement of Finance and Business skills via agreed and documented change plans across the whole of Finance.
  • Systems - Accountable for the delivery of increased control automation simplification and convergence through the use of enabling technology whilst responsible for ensuring Finance system users are assisted with the resolution of issues in-line with SLAs with Group IT which you have accountability for.
  • Data - Accountable for engaging with IT and the Business to ensure the uniformity accuracy stewardship semantic consistency and accountability of data used by Finance with the core intent of improving the underlying Finance data infrastructure.
  • Digital Transformation - Lead proactive horizon scanning with which to engage with Finance and IT stakeholders so as to develop Finances digital strategy.

Qualifications :

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) essential
  • 6 - 8 years leading multiple Finance teams
  • Effective team leadership required
  • Comfortable using suitable tools to analyse and interpret data from a range of systems
  • Substantial knowledge of change management principles methodologies and tools utilised with a Financial services environment.
  • Experience in managing or leading SAP S/4HANA implementation projects within a financial environment.
  • Experience in financial data analysis leveraging SAPs advanced capabilities (e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud embedded analytics in S/4HANA) to provide business insights.
  • Experience leading large-scale organisational process and technology change.
