The following qualifications are guidelines as the appointing authority has broad discretion in filling positions in this classification.
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in public administration recreation and leisure services or related field. A Masters degree in public administration is highly desirable.
Experience:
Three years of supervisory management experience in parks recreation and cultural arts administration or a closely related field.

If you do not have access to a computer there are computer stations available at any City of Oakland Public Library. There are also workstations at the Human Resources Management Department 150 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza 2nd Floor Oakland CA 94612. Workstations are available during regular business hours (normally 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
