Masters degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program or an equivalent advanced degree or current enrollment in an MLIS or related advanced degree program.
Experience designing and delivering workshops instructional materials or digital learning resources.
Demonstrated knowledge of Generative AI applications for research including ethical considerations and responsible use.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage faculty students and organizational partners effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a rapidly evolving environment.
Experience working in an academic library.
Knowledge of instructional design principles and best practices for online and in-person learning.
Experience assessing the impact of instructional initiatives and research support programs.

The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks a curious dynamic candidate to serve as an AI Literacy Project Librarian to contribute to efforts in supporting research and learning through the ethical effective use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. This role will assist with the development of instructional materials conduct workshops and collaborate with faculty and campus partners to enhance AI understanding across disciplines. The successful candidate will be passionate about integrating emerging technologies into research and instruction fostering responsible AI use and evaluating AI tools for academic applications.
Responsibilities:
Serve on the newly launched AI Action Team for Research Support and Student Success to support the evolving needs of the research community regarding AI ensuring that AI literacy and ethical considerations are central to the Libraries Research and Academic Success efforts.
Support the design and implementation of instructional modules on AI for integration into library instruction sessions and research support initiatives promoting responsible AI use.
Contribute to the development and delivery of workshops on AI tools and their applications in research covering topics such as prompt engineering ethical considerations and tool evaluation with a strong emphasis on ethical AI use and AI literacy.
Assist in creating LibGuides and other digital learning objects to provide asynchronous learning on AI concepts ethical considerations and targeted applications for research and learning.
Participate in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of AI initiatives related to providing research support and promoting student success contributing to strategy adaptations as needed.
Stay current with developments in AI technologies assessing their impact on research and academic libraries while maintaining a focus on ethical AI practices.
Work collaboratively with Libraries departments and units to integrate AI literacy and use into broader information literacy and digital scholarship programs ensuring alignment with ethical AI principles.
