Job Description
Purpose Statement
The position of Bus Driver (Special Education) was established for the purpose of providing a safe and welcoming environment for our students to get to and from school every day. The driver ensures the supervision of special needs students meets Maryville City expectations; observing documenting and communicating ways to improve.
This position reports to the Director of Transportation.
Essential Functions
* Assists students in loading and unloading on the bus to the proper places safely.
* Driving a bus in a safe manner
* Abiding by all TN state laws to ensure bus is safe and operable
* Attends meetings and in-service presentations as needed (e.g. first aid CPR emergency procedures behavior management CPI training IEPs etc.) for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working with drivers attendants parents and students to ensure each student is transported safely and ready to engage at school.
