Job Description

About The Role:

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and supporting community wellbeing The City of Charles Sturt is looking for a proactive and community-focused Litter Prevention Officer to join our Community Safety team. In this dynamic role youll conduct regular patrols to deter littering and illegal dumping investigate incidents and enforce relevant legislation.

Youll play a key role in delivering and shaping the Citys Illegal Dumping Strategy maintain accurate records in Salesforce CRM and engage with the community to promote environmental awareness. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential as we work together to create a cleaner safer and more sustainable city.

About You:

Reporting to the Team Leader Community you will play a key role in addressing illegal dumping and littering across the City of Charles Sturt. Guided by Councils Educate Encourage and Enforce framework your work will focus on reducing waste in our community through proactive engagement enforcement and education.

Were looking for someone who brings:

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation including issuing expiations and undertaking enforcement actions.
  • A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-level communication skills with the ability to listen empathise and respond professionally.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation capabilities backed by sound judgement and initiative.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A genuine passion for environmental protection community education and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative team-oriented mindset grounded in accountability integrity and service excellence.

About Our Team:

The Community Health and Safety Team is focused on adopting a proactive and contemporary approach to effectively deliver a broad range of regulatory related activities while ensuring a positive customer experience. Actively engaged within the community the team builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers by offering accurate information and guidance to support compliance with legislative requirements.

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and is classified at Level 3 with a salary range of $83426 to $89940 per annum Super Annual Leave Loading.

A current unprohibited Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check(Police check) must be maintained for the duration of the employment period in this prescribed position.
