Job Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated and dynamic Assistant Manager to oversee mid and/or evening operations for our store and housekeeping teams. This role is pivotal in upholding Trails commitment to cleanliness customer satisfaction and team leadership. The ideal candidate will lead by example inspire their team and occasionally perform hands-on tasks to ensure our facility remains pristine and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Motivate: Supervise and inspire store and housekeeping staff during mid and/or evening shifts fostering a customer-focused culture that aligns with Trails high standards.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Oversee and participate in housekeeping tasks ensuring restrooms showers and store areas are spotless upholding our reputation as the cleanest travel center.
- Customer Service: Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience addressing concerns promptly and promoting a welcoming environment.
- Team Management: Train schedule and mentor team members instilling accountability and pride in delivering exceptional service.
- Operational Oversight: Manage inventory monitor store operations and ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Hands-On Work: Actively participate in physical tasks (e.g. cleaning restocking organizing) as needed to maintain our facilitys standards.
- Retail Support: Assist with retail operations including cashier duties and merchandising to ensure smooth store functionality.
Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team preferably in a retail hospitality or service environment.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to Work: Comfortable performing physical tasks including cleaning restrooms showers and store areas to lead by example.
- Customer-Focused: Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean inviting facility.
- Retail Experience: Some experience in retail or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required; we prioritize leadership and work ethic.
- Flexibility: Ability to work mid and/or evening shifts with a schedule that accommodates operational needs.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with staff customers and management effectively.
