The parish bulletin and newsletter editor is responsible for creating and publishing the weekly bulletin and the newsletter for our parish. This involves gathering information writing announcements designing the layout and ensuring that the bulletin is ready for printing or distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Gathering: Collecting announcements articles and information from various sources within the parish.
Writing and Editing: Crafting clear and concise announcements articles and other content.
Layout and Design: Using software such as Microsoft Publisher and Mailchimp or others to create a visually appealing and informative bulletin and newsletter.
Proofreading: Ensuring accuracy and consistency in the text and layout.
Deadline Management: Meeting deadlines for printing and distribution on a weekly basis.
Communication: Working with various individuals and departments within the parish to gather information and ensure timely delivery.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong writing and editing skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite especially Publisher
Familiarity with Mailchimp
Attention to details
Time management and organizational skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with Catholic faith liturgy and terminology
Education:Bachelor degree preferred
Experience:Experience with Microsoft Word and Publisher is necessary experience with Adobe Suite Canva MailChimp WordPress and Google are helpful
Requirements:
Must be an active joyful practicing Catholic and ideally a parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish fully aligned with its mission.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Must have demonstrated organizational skills attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be able to work well independently.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work from other locations via remote connection when needed.
