Seaman High Schoolhas an opening for an Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2025-26 school year.
The assistant position is responsible for teaching athletes fundamental and higher level baseball techniques to prepare players for competition. Coach should motivate student athletes to develop an appreciation for the sport of baseball and the demands necessary to be competitive at the high school level and beyond. This position runs from 2/15/26 to 5/31/26. Candidate must have coaching experience and/or have competed in the sport of baseball.
Essential Duties:
1. Works the head/assistant coaches and players during conditioning practices and games.
2. Assists in organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages student participation.
3. Assesses skill level and assists in assigning positions and team roles within the program.
4. Assists in developing a practice schedule to provide both individual and team development.
5. Coordinates scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
6. Coaches players regarding the rules regulations equipment techniques of the sport etc.
7. Observes players to determine the needs for individual and team improvement.
8. Establishes a standard of behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
9. Helps monitor the academic performance to ensure that eligibility requirements.
10. Follows established procedures with the athletic trainer in the event of an injury.
11. Consults with parents/guardians when necessary regarding player performance.
12. Follows KSHSAA regulations governing the high school athletic programs.
13. Models appropriate conduct towards athletes parents umpires opposition and spectators.
14. Follows established procedures for transprotation equipment uniforms etc.
15. Participates in special activities to include parent meetings award nights fundraising etc.
16. Assist in preseason conditioning program during Jan/Feb. and possibly the summer program.
17. Models nondiscriminatory practices that govern USD #345.
