Job Description
Key Objectives:
- Risk Assessment:Offer coverage terms and conditions which generate a profit for the Company while meeting the needs of the customer:
- Identify general casualty and/or environmental risk exposures special or common hazards and appropriate controls
- Select risk based on exposure and risk analysis
- Analyze claims financials and quantify losses
- Marketing and Communications:
- Sell and negotiate to achieve bottom line profitability for the Company
- Make presentations and communicate articulately
- Base communications on strategic thinking
- Manage producer strategy
- Systems and Programs:Daily tasks are handled through the use of proprietary systems and software programs; thus the candidate must be able to learn and utilize such systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers
- Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans
- Quotes/Binds coverage
- Documents the underwriting files
- Develop/maintain internal/external client relationships
- Takes ownership of given production goals and utilizes all available department resources to achieve said goals
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in underwriting environmental lines of business. This includes but is not limited to the following coverage lines:
- Commercial General Liability Contractors Pollution Liability Professional Liability Site Pollution Liability Excess Liability Business Auto
- Experience working in the E&S/wholesale market space is preferred
Desired Qualifications:
- Possess Underwriting knowledge including:
- Exposure Analysis and Forms & Coverages
- Rating Principles and Mechanics
- Proficiency in Typing and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
- Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proven Broker Relations & Customer Management skill set
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Negotiation & Presentation Skills
- Strong Business Acumen
The pay range for the role is $60700 to $103300. The specific offer will depend on an applicants skills and other factors.
