DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller and driving effective financial management across the business. This is a hands-on position that combines day-to-day financial operations with team leadership and strategic input. Ideal for a recently qualified finance professional with 3 - 4 years of relevant experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility.
You will oversee core finance functions including bookkeeping budgeting reporting and forecasting while line managing two Finance Assistants. Youll be expected to take initiative implement and refine processes and bring clarity and structure to a dynamic fast-paced environment. Your strong spreadsheet skills knowledge of finance systems and ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the business will be key to your success.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised reliable and proactive - someone who thrives on ownership enjoys building effective processes and is confident providing feedback up and down. Experience in media or service-based companies is a plus as is any background in implementing financial tools or systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent the finance function in internal meetings and discussions.
- Review and approve sales invoices and supplier purchase requests.
- Lead the month-end process ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Line manage coach and support two Finance Assistants.
- Maintain high professional standards and deliver excellent internal service.
- Plan and prioritise workload effectively ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Produce accurate reports budgets and forecasts with variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and financial processes.
- Take ownership of financial operations and reporting for allocated accounts.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance on a monthly and annual basis.
- Support teams by constructively challenging assumptions to help achieve financial targets.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support your direct reports by setting clear expectations giving helpful feedback and encouraging a positive collaborative work environment.
- Effectively oversee junior team members ensuring workloads are sufficiently monitored & prioritised to ensure deadlines are met.
- Continuously monitor evaluate and refine team performance by setting clear measurable goals and providing thoughtful regular feedback during 1:1s and performance reviews. Acting as a mentor and supporting their professional growth through personalised development plans.
- Lead on internal meetings and training sessions fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere. Model best practices to inspire and guide team members.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts conducting interviews and managing onboarding processes to ensure new hires are smoothly integrated into the team.
- Actively look out for your direct reports mental emotional and physical wellbeing providing support when needed sharing company resources and escalating to the People Team when necessary.
- Champion equity diversity and inclusion within the team fostering an environment where all employees feel valued and respected.
ABOUT YOU
- Recently qualified - ACA ACCA CIMA.
- 3 - 4 years of relevant work experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core financial principles.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills with proven application in analysis and reporting.
- Confident learning and using new systems with experience in finance applications.
- Experience improving or implementing financial processes not just maintaining them.
- Organised reliable and detail-oriented with strong time management.
- Positive proactive and able to work independently to create structure.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring team members with a desire to lead.
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback at all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in media or service-based businesses would be a bonus.

LOCATION
Our stunning offices are based in the heart of Fitzrovia minutes walk from Goodge Street Tottenham Court Road and Warren Street stations. We currently operate a hybrid working week including Tuesday-Thursday in the office with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
