Job Description
The Kids Connect program is a targeted program for primary school aged children who are struggling socially and academically. The program supports children with behavioural difficulties low self-esteem and/or poor school attendance.
Kids Connect establishes safe and caring learning environments gives participating children the opportunity to practice the positive behaviours and provides participating children with consistent reinforcement.

A place to make a difference:
In this part-time maximum term role (Monday to Thursday 30.4 hour per week during school terms for 12 months with potential for extension) youll work as a part of our Kids Connect team in Katherine to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.
You will make a difference by:
- Delivering Kids Connect sessions to primary school children in the allocated geographical area
- Ensuring quality service delivery that meets required outcomes in-line with Kids Connect guidelines and contractual requirements
- Liaising and consulting regularly with local communities professionals service providers and referral services to ensure our programs and services are meeting local needs proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Mentoring and developing colleagues to increase skill and competency to enable high quality service delivery
A place to feel valued:
Your deep expertise in working effectively and appropriately with children aged 5 to 12 (who may be experiencing developmental social and/or learning challenges due to trauma or neurodiversity) will be invaluable. Youre someone who is reliable emotionally regulated and able to sustain unconditional positive regard for the children.
This role requires:
- High level of facilitation experience with the ability to deliver information effectively to children
- Demonstrated skills knowledge understanding and experience working with vulnerable children
- Demonstrated experience in using trauma informed practice
- Sound time management and organisational skills and ability to manage and plan own workload
- Knowledge and/or experience in handling child protection concerns and processes
