We are looking for a dynamic organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Transportation Analyst.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts Integrated Logistics segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals Tubes & Hardware Hose & Couplings Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

The Transportation Analyst analyzes and develops transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels.

Additional Information:

• Location: This position is located out of the East Peoria IL and Morton IL facilities.
• Travel: Up to 5% (Domestic)

• This role will have frequent on-call responsibilities to support the transportation needs within the facility

What You Will Do:

• Analyzing transportation plans and identifying opportunities for improvements to meet client needs
• Implementing and maintaining monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status shipped date in transit location estimated arrival date and actual delivery date
• Generating and analyzing reports of transportation costs carrier performance and lead times
• Assisting in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity and providing solutions to reduce lead times

What You Have (Required Skills):

• Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand monitor update control or enhance existing business or work processes.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Experience working with PowerBI and Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
• Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Skills):

• A Bachelors Degree
• Transportation: Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers distribution centers manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.
• Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand predict and control the movement of goods materials and supplies.
• Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
