We are seeking a skilled and passionate **Paralegal** to join their team in St. Paul Minnesota. In this role you will work side-by-side with attorneys on complex litigation cases playing a critical role in case development and client advocacy. Key Responsibilities:
Investigate the facts of a case
Complete damages interviews with clients
Conduct research on institutional and individual defendants
Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems
Gather and arrange evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
Draft and prepare case and document summaries (medical education employment records deposition transcripts abuse/damages)
Draft legal documents and correspondence (e.g. discovery deposition notices subpoenas meet and confer letters)
Prepare case files for depositions hearings and trials
Assist attorneys during trial by handling exhibits taking notes or reviewing transcripts
Schedule and conduct interviews meetings and depositions with clients witnesses attorneys and outside vendors
Manage a large caseload and effectively prioritize workload
Create and implement processes and assist with managing projects across multiple cases
Handle intake calls from potential clients complete paperwork and conduct follow-ups
Prepare legal documents for both state and federal courts
Foster positive and productive working relationships with colleagues and clients
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate required
Associate s or Bachelor s degree in paralegal studies preferred
5 years of paralegal experience ideally with litigation background
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to summarize facts clearly and empathetically
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Trauma-informed communication skills or willingness to learn trauma-responsive practices
Proficiency in Westlaw Lexis-Nexis Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; SharePoint experience is a plus
Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and a strong interest in child protection is preferred
