- Respond immediately to fire alarms gas leaks explosions and other emergency situations within the steel plant.
- Conduct rescue operations in confined spaces high-heat areas and hazardous industrial zones.
- Operate firefighting and rescue equipment such as fire hoses breathing apparatus hydraulic tools and thermal imaging cameras.
- Monitor and handle hazardous material spills or toxic gas releases in coordination with HSE protocols.
- Administer first aid or CPR and assist paramedics in transporting injured personnel when necessary.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and fire drills in furnaces gas pipelines heavy machinery and storage areas.
- Inspect and maintain firefighting systems (sprinklers hydrants extinguishers) and ensure operational readiness.
- Participate in safety audits emergency preparedness training and compliance with industrial safety standards (e.g. OSHA NFPA ISO).
- Educate plant workers on fire safety rescue procedures and emergency evacuation plans.
- Maintain logs incident reports and records for all emergency responses and training activities.
Requirements
- Diploma/Certification in Fire & Industrial Safety preferred.
- Certified Industrial Firefighter (NFPA standards or equivalent).
- Level III First Aid certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in firefighting/rescue mandatory in heavy industry (steel oil & gas manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of industrial hazards confined space entry and hazardous materials handling.
- Proficient in the use of rescue equipment fire suppression systems and PPE.
- Physically fit able to work in extreme heat and high-risk environments.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and emergency standby duties.
