Job Description Summary
People leader of a highly technical manufacturing cell employing various assembly and testing technologies of large-scale power plant equipment within a fast-growing Generator and Power business. Own all aspects of daily operations and management of the Generator Final Assembly manufacturing cell as well as the Building 281 Generator Test Stand and Bunkers. Drive Safety Quality Delivery and Cost of a fast-paced and customer facing manufacturing assembly shop as the final operation within all generator manufacturing in the factory prior to shipping. Will provide direction and leadership to own salary team of operations leaders manufacturing engineers and planners with indirect leadership of Materials and Quality teams within the cell. Cell employs over 60hourly individuals as well as electrical and balance technicians in the fabrication and testing of generators as well as generator and steam turbine rotating components. Leadership of this shop will employ and necessitate various Lean Strategies and Initiatives as well as leverage technical skills in product development and improvement as the areas forecasts significant growth in the coming years.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage a manufacturing cell in order to reach defined targets in quality cost delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees and hourly employees.
- Responsible for direct team development and growth through hiring priority setting and regular performance reviews.
- Function within larger Gas Power business to provide product for both New Build product as well as support repairs and site services for shipping and testing rotating power plant components.
- Drive Continuous Improvement and a larger Lean initiative within the cell and throughout the site. Leverage and champion Lean across entire team and shops to propose and implement significant process and production changes.
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college and minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role OR High School Diploma/GED and minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience and 6 years manufacturing supervisory role.

Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this position is $122600.00 - $135000.00
. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety offactors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
*The company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
