Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times as well as:
Troubleshoot electrical controls PLCs and variable frequency drives.
Install troubleshoot and repair mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to plcs power supplies drives gages and test equipment.
Run electrical conduit water and gas. Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Install start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles writing specifications local and national electrical codes properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production in a timely manner.
Plan layout assemble install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges valves pressure regulators and related equipment.
Operate welding equipment and cutting torch to cut or join metal parts.
Set up and operate machine tools such asa lathe grinder drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts jigs dies and fixtures.
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
