The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is actively recruiting for Materials Technician 1 positions within its Laboratory Testing Section. In this position you will be tasked with executing a wide range of testing protocols that adhere to the guidelines established by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) ASTM International (ASTM) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportations Test Methods (PTMs). Your responsibilities will include conducting various tests on both coarse and fine aggregates as well as preparing samples for transfer to concrete or chemistry laboratories and for petrographic analysis. Additionally you will ensure that all testing equipment is functioning correctly by performing daily inspections conducting monthly maintenance and carrying out necessary cleaning procedures. You will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting test data maintaining accurate records and keeping detailed maintenance logs to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
