Job Description

The Role:

We are currently looking for a Senior Regulatory Correspondent to lead our EMEA coverage of live merger control and FDI reviews and emerging policy developments affecting the M&A deal pipeline. Joining our global network of over 350 ION Analytics journalists youll work within a fast-paced team writing scoops on significant deals across the region while also providing breaking news and agenda-setting thought leadership pieces on the latest regulatory initiatives from the European Commission and beyond as well contributing to the development of our coverage strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Produce a steady flow of exclusive articles ranging from in-depth features on regulatory trends to hard-hitting fast-paced scoops on competition and FDI reviews of live acquisitions
    • Shape our day-to-day regulatory news agenda in collaboration with our global team of journalists analysts and staff writers
    • Liaise with management and colleagues on the continuous development of our coverage strategy operational initiatives and commercial priorities
    • Attend key conferences trade fairs and events to develop sources and dig out news and represent ION Group at our own conferences by for example moderating panels

Required Skills Experience and Qualifications:

    • Proven track record writing hard hitting scoops and in-depth analytical features with an existing contact book of advisory and regulatory sources across EMEA
    • Should have excellent English and French speaking and writing skills. Additional European language skills would be an advantage
    • Able to bring substantial reporting experience and a bulging source book from other financial or regulatory news services newspapers or online publications to the table
    • Able to travel to key events in the region
