About Us:
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.
Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.
About the Role:
This Position is located at Elphinstone Street Rockhampton and forms part of the SEWB team which is responsible for providing counselling and education to Mental Health clients including those who have been affected by the removal or by intergenerational effects of forced removal. The service works closely with other agencies such as the Link-Up Program.
The purpose of the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator is to provide leadership to a team of professionals in the delivery of Social and Emotional Well-Being prevention support and Mental Health Education programs in accordance with the Bidgerdii Action Plan policies and procedures. The Coordinator will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence in devising and implementing own and staff work plans and managing work priorities.
