Job Description

Job Title:Procurement Specialist

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite

Legal Entity:Entergy Services Inc.-ESI (OLD)

***This a hybrid position working in office 3 days a week based in Hammond. Other major offices in New Orleans LA; The Woodlands TX; Little Rock AR or Jackson MS may be considered but additional travel may be required for those residing outside of the Hammond Louisiana area. **

Job Purpose:

The Central Procurement Specialist is responsible for the strategic procurement of materials and goods to meet the demands of the business. Leveraging advanced supply chain and purchasing expertise this role operates autonomously to execute progressively complex and variable scopes of work. The specialist utilizes Entergys purchasing processes systems and tools to identify the most appropriate sourcing channels delivery methods and commercial terms to ensure cost-effective efficient and compliant procurement. Key interfaces include internal business units suppliers and other Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote strong safety behaviors and identify/address any supplier safety concerns
  • Apply procurement principles (plan strategize source perform) to each request
  • Process RFQs resolve invoice discrepancies and identify/evaluate new/current suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with legal risk and quality requirements for nuclear-related purchases
  • Deliver cost savings through competitive bidding negotiations and cost avoidance
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Serve as a central point of contact and maintain open communication

Minimum Requirements:

Education Experience and/or Certification

  • Central Procurement Specialist I:Bachelors degree in supply chain Business Accounting Engineering Legal or other related discipline and minimum 0 years of combined material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 3 years of material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience.
  • Central Procurement Specialist II:Bachelors degree in supply chain Business Accounting Engineering Legal or other related discipline and minimum 2 years of combined material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 6 years of material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience.
  • Central Procurement Specialist III:Bachelors degree in supply chain Business Accounting Engineering Legal or other related discipline and minimum 5 years of combined material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 9 years of material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience.
  • Central Procurement Specialist Sr:Bachelors degree in supply chain Business Accounting Engineering Legal or other related discipline and minimum 9 years of combined material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree minimum 13 years of material purchasing supplier contracting vendor management or other related supply chain experience. Minimum 3 years in energy industry
  • Preferred:
    • Prior procurement experience in support of the energy industry
    • Proficient in Entergys procurement systems policies and processes
    • Strong commercial acumen negotiation skills and financial/data analysis capabilities
    • Excellent communication relationship management and project management skills
    • SC certification (CPSM APICS) and prior experience in the energy industry

This role is critical in ensuring Entergys procurement activities are executed in a safe cost-effective and compliant manner. The Central Procurement Specialist will play a key part in supporting the businesss material needs and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain.
