What We Are Looking For

The Behavioral Health RN Manager works under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health. The manager is experienced and compassionate and will be responsible for overseeing the daily clinical flow of the nursing team ensuring high standards of patient care and collaborating with Behavioral Department staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes. The manager will be responsible for the oversight of patient care functions to ensure psychiatry and addiction clinics function optimally assisting in planning implementation and evaluation of service delivery. The manager will also be responsible for administrative tasks staff development quality assurance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Schedule: 5 days per week 8 hours day Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Location: SBC Clinic San Bernardino CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES

  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to nursing team and support staff.
  • Monitor patient care activities address any concerns and ensure that appropriate nursing interventions are carried out.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations as well as accreditation standards related to behavioral health services.
  • Collaborate with physicians social workers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated comprehensive care for patients. Work with the LVN Lead to implement these items in a coordinated way across clinics.
  • Oversight of inventory for medication preference lists implementation of new procedures working collaboratively with CMT IT Billing and Central Supply.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for the shift adjusting as needed based on patient volume and acuity.
  • Monitor and manage nursing staff performance identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Ability to be flexible to assist in all departmental areas when needed and travel to other clinics as necessary; must have a reliable vehicle valid drivers license and auto insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or two years of outpatient clinic experience and two years of supervisory experience in lieu of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license required; A current CPR/BLS certification (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program) valid California drivers license and auto insurance. As a requirement of this position you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience required. Minimum three (3) years of out-patient clinic experience or equivalent at a management level overseeing employees and clinical programs. Experience working with the behavioral health and/or addiction population is preferred.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Must have proficient computer skills including data entry. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including fax machine scanner printer and copier answering telephones good digital dexterity and hand-eye coordination to utilize assessment tools
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional and strong communication skills in difficult situations. Ability to deescalate concerns. Telephone etiquette required. Ability to translate medical information. Effective communication. Team oriented.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Prioritize variety of assignments follow moderate/complex instructions proofread documents for content/context accuracy recognize and appropriately report safety problems or other problem situations.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
