Description / Position Overview

Fleet Service Writer
The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a Fleet Service Writer to the Support Services team! As a Fleet Service Writer you willsupport the inhouse fleet vehicle repairs and maintenance operations by performing vehicle intake procedures such as communicating with the customer conducting inspections auditing maintenance records and service schedules and taking test drives. Youll develop work order for technicians with detailed information such as symptoms causes and repairs or services required.

  • Writing:Intermediate - Ability to write reports prepare business letters expositions and summaries with proper format punctuation spelling grammar using all parts of speech. Ordinarily such education is obtained in high school up to college. However it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
  • Fiscal Responsibility:This classification prepares accounting budget and employment actions purchasing documents and does research to justify language used in documents. May recommend budget allocations.
  • Physical Demands:Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally; 10-25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
