Job Description
Behavioral Health Technician
- Salary Range:$24.04 - $28.85/hour based on relevant years of experience
- Location:Fort Collins Colorado at our Longview campus
- Status:Full-time 40 hours per week
- Hours: both days and overnights
Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn a differential. Shift differentials are also available for evenings nights ($7 per hour) weekends and holidays.
Role Overview:
As a Behavioral Health Technician (Case Manager) within our Crisis Residential Unit the person in this role provides services to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Duties include milieu management brief counseling interventions psycho-education and activities groups and treatment planning within a Crisis Stabilization Unit setting. The position interacts extensively with a large interdisciplinary team including RNs Psychiatrists Nurse Practitioners Mental Health Therapists and Psychologists.
Essential Duties:
- Provide behavioral health intervention and milieu management on the unit to maintain patient and staff safety.
- Help clients complete intake paperwork and get oriented to rules/activities of the unit.
- Complete regular client documentation in the Electronic Health Record System.
- Resolve conflicts between clients and de-escalate clients as needed.
- Help complete client discharge planning and schedule follow-up appointments for clients.
- Create and maintain a trauma-informed and therapeutic environment for every client.
- Facilitate therapeutic activity groups on the units.
- Respond and intervene in emergency codes called.
Required:
- Bachelors degree in health/human services required
- At least one year of experience working in behavioral health setting or programs required
Highly Desired:
- Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) in Colorado preferred
- Trauma Informed Care experience
- Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred
