Job Description


SUMMARY:

This position as an Environmental Inspector/Construction Technician II supports environmental compliance and inspection activities across a range of construction projects with increased independence and technical responsibility. This position involves monitoring and documentation of construction practices to ensure alignment with environmental regulations permit conditions and construction drawings as well as mentoring entry-level staff and supporting project engineers in more complex compliance efforts. The employee is expected to demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable regulations assist in developing inspection protocols understand construction sequencing and contribute to the preparation of detailed compliance and construction documentation.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge Skills and Abilities):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college-level coursework in environmental science environmental engineering construction management or related preferred.
  • 4-7 years of relevant field experience in environmental inspection or construction compliance.
  • Experience working on active construction sites and interacting with project teams.
  • Solid understanding of environmental permitting requirements and construction methods.
  • Proficient in collecting and organizing field data completing project documentation and preparing summary reports.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills including attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. drivers license and maintain an insurable driving record.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project team members.
  • Demonstrate initiative and motivation to complete project tasks on schedule.
  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections and monitor construction operations with minimal oversight. Ability to travel to construction project sites in Cameron Parish.
  • Work outside around construction equipment and/or other physical hazards.
  • Prepare reports and daily project documentation.
  • Serves as primary construction and environmental inspector in area or areas of specialization/certification.
  • Prepares daily work reports estimate quantities and/or calculations.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and senior technical staff by contributing field insights validating data and assisting with advanced inspection tasks.
  • Support the development and refinement of sampling plans and conduct materials audits to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards. Evaluate document and prepare final reports for acceptance of construction project.
  • Maintain familiarity with evolving environmental standards and apply them in the field setting.
