Job Description

Position Title: Maintenance and MDI Training Coordinator

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Position Location: Coaldale

Grade:Scale 12

About the role.

The Maintenance and MDI Trainer will be responsible with facilitating training for the maintenance disciplines as well as supporting maintenance with MDI training and integration activities. This will include but is not limited to creating and updating training manuals for each position development maintenance and training of SOPs JSAs one-point lessons and training tracking matrix. The Maintenance and MDI Trainer will work with Maintenance Supervisors to observe training of maintenance personnel and document training performance for each trainee. In addition the Maintenance and MDI Trainer may be responsible for auditing the hands-on training between maintenance personnel and trainees while addressing any issues through the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor(s)/Manager(s).

What youll be doing.

  • Assist maintenance management to efficiently administer and schedule on the job training.
  • Manage all documentation related to relevant and required training for maintenance employees.
  • Develops communicates and coordinates training plans for maintenance employees in conjunction with their supervisors and adjusts plans when necessary.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Schedulers to schedule training for employees.
  • Keeps supervisors informed of all conditions affecting the training process.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of all equipment to facilitate training for all MDI Technologies.
  • Creates and maintains training materials including but not limited to training manuals SOPs JSAs one-point lessons checklists tests reviews etc.
  • Facilitates schedules and documents vendor training.
  • Evaluates the progress of training and analyzes the effectiveness of training procedures and training materials.
  • Treats people with respect follows-up on commitments and strives to uphold organizational values.
  • Actively looks and seeks out areas of improvement and develops innovative and creative solutions to problems with the training process.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of trainees trainers supervisors and managers.
  • Able to speak clearly in front of large groups and deliver training in an effective manner.
  • Able to write clearly and informatively and able to read and interpret written information.
  • Use time efficiently by prioritizing and planning required work activities.
  • Communicate any problems or changes in working environment to appropriate personnel.
  • Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process to ensure quality operation.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Language Skills.

Must have the ability to read and comprehend complex technical instructions correspondence and memos such as safety rules operating instructions and technical operation and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write clear and concise correspondence and routine reports. Effectively present and train on maintenance topics and provide information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills.

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio percentage and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability.

Ability to apply a reasonable person understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications.

  • Associated diploma degree and or technical certificaiton.
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • Twelve months related experience and/or a combination of college or technical courses and experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with passing score on the mechanical job skills test.
  • Demonstrated Training experience would be an asset such as Train the Trainer or other Training certifications.

Other Abilities.

  • Attends work consistently and on time.
  • Able to multi-task manage competing demands and adapt to changes in the work environment.

  • Intermediate computer skills experience with SAP an asset
  • Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) trainer certification an asset
  • Understanding ISO14001 requirements.

Compensation Package:$33.73-$36.93CAD hourly
