Job Summary

Join us in making a difference at Home of Guiding Hands as we improve the quality of life for people with special needs. As the Respite Manager you will drive quality and efficiency with the use of strategic planning and leadership skills. This position can primarily be located in either our San Diego county office or Imperial county office and the ideal candidate would be willing to travel roughly once or twice per month between those two offices. Tasks Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management of the Respite program ensuring high-quality services are delivered in accordance with client needs agency standards and ID team directives.
  • Clearly communicate job expectations provide ongoing coaching and feedback and support staff development engagement and retention efforts.
  • Lead hiring training supervision and development of Respite Workers and administrative staff fostering accountability retention and growth.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll and billing data.
  • Maintain clear timely communication with ID team members families and staff regarding client care program updates and service coordination.
  • Monitor progress towards and facilitate completion of annual program goals.
  • Analyze issues evaluate solutions and develop sound conclusions recommendations and courses of action.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. Finance People Operations) to support operational needs and ensure continuity of service.
  • Maximize administrative efficiencies by utilizing technology and streamlining internal processes.
  • Implement and reinforce standard operating procedures and documentation protocols to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements agency policies and industry best practices to ensure ongoing program compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Review and revise the program designs department policies and procedures and service-delivery systems of the programs as needed.
  • Review financial statements regularly. Address issues and adjust as needed.
  • Support execution of strategic initiatives led by the Director ensuring alignment of operational practices with organizational goals.
  • Participate in outreach to educate the community about available services and potential job opportunities.
  • Attend trainings and networking events to learn about best practices and form professional working relationships with industry professionals.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Education

  • Bachelors degree in related field required.
  • Two years supervisory and management experience required
  • Three years working with people with developmental disabilities required.
  • Experience utilizing leadership skills including fiscal oversight critical thinking and goal setting and achievement.
  • Read write speak and understand English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word Outlook and Excel.
  • High-level management and leadership skills.
  • Forward-thinking and strategic mindset with strong planning skills
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to use data to identify and accomplish program goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to directly address areas of concern.
  • Highly organized and efficient with ability to consistently meet identified goals.
  • Ability to exercise sound expert judgement within general policy guidelines.
  • A passion for excellence through teamwork positive change and communication.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Must have valid California Drivers license safe driving record and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The work environment for this position involves working in an office setting for most of the time and on a less frequent basis meeting with clients in their homes and the community. While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to see talk hear walk bend stoop sit stand reach and lift objects weighing up to ten pounds repeatedly during a shift.

We provide a full continuum of care including residential care in specialized group homes independent living support respite care and adult foster home services.
