Collins Aerospace an RTX company Command Control Communications Computer Intelligence and Autonomy (C4IA) organization is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our Mission Autonomy and Battle Management team. Mission Autonomy and Battle Management provides mission autonomy to support collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) and crewed/uncrewed teaming (C/U-T) as well as planning and battle management in electronic warfare. It encompasses modeling and simulation human machine interface (HMI) mission planning situational awareness and a modular open systems architecture (MOSA).
The candidate will be expected to work with engineers customers and leadership to turn ideas into reality and help carry the future of the C4I business into a sustainable value stream. The manager is responsible for tactical execution of programs performance management employee development talent acquisition/retention and strategic support of the business. What You Will Do
Demonstrate predictable program execution continuous improvement and engagement with a talented group of software engineers
Work directly with and manage daily activities of software engineers in a secure lab environment to develop integrate and test software in an Agile development environment
Oversee and manage the technical aspects of continuous integration / continuous development
Develop and nurture internal and external networks ensuring alignment and transparency with stakeholders forging relationships with peers across C4IA Engineering Value Stream Leadership and government customers
Collaborate across programs and engineering teams to identify efficiencies share resources and support the development of best practices necessitating an ability to clearly communicate objectives and status to audiences with varying degrees of understanding of the products and technology
Ensure compliance to Collins development processes and standard work requirements
Oversee and participate in the development of engineering bids and proposals
Ability to travel up to 10% based on business need to support customer events and related activities
Qualifications You Must Have
3-4 years of experience serving as a Software Lead Systems Lead or Project Engineer with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding project deadlines adhering to budget constraints and maintaining quality compliance standards
Direct involvement in Agile methodologies serving as a Product Owner Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer with demonstrated success in managing Agile ceremonies sprint planning backlog grooming and cross-team coordination
Knowledge of open standards software development requirements such as GRA A-GRA MOSA etc.
Software development experience with C C or related languages as well as experience developing on Red Hat Linux or equivalent OS
Knowledge and experience in DevSecOps best practices
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Qualifications We Prefer
Experience working on Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) and/or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) autonomy programs for the Army Navy and/or Air Force customers
Experience developing and integrating with the Open Mission System (OMS) architecture
Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Network Communications Datalinks and Platform Integration
Experience with Java Angular Web development Python Git Jira Gitlab Docker Kubernetes Boost and GCC compilers
Experience with software bid estimation and proposal writing as well as earned value management (EVM)
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Data Engineering and relevant tools
Knowledge of modeling and simulation frameworks such as Advanced Framework for Simulation (AFSIM) or Government Autonomy Modeling & Simulation Environment (GAME)
Current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
