Summary
The Accountant and Risk Management Assistant involves a blend of accounting tasks and risk identification/mitigation primarily related to insurance and contracts. The role requires assistance with financial record keeping primarily completing accounts payable responsibilities. They ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and resolve any discrepancies as well as managing subcontractor insurance compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounting
*Performs accounts payable functions including:
Vendor setup
Voucher approval
Vendor compliance
Weekly check runs
Track lien waivers
Research and respond to AP questions
Process and pay expense reports
*Deposits
*Journal entries
*Review subcontractor prequalification applications
*Compile and process owner billings
*Administer company credit cards
*Administer company DocuSign program
*Become a notary public in Colorado if not one already
Risk Management
*Assist the Contracts and Risk Manager in minimizing risks of loss to the company through evidence of subcontractor insurance by:
procuring and reviewing for compliance new and renewal insurance certificates from all subcontractors/consultants
maintaining and updating certificate files by utilizing a policy expiration tracking system for renewal requests
entering insurance compliance in CMIC and Textura
*Assisting the Contracts and Risk Manager in processing legal documents contracts and risk management matters including word processing and file maintenance.
*Support in processing automobile insurance claims and assisting the Contracts and Risk Manager in processing claims for all other insurance coverage.
*Process and submit monthly Builders Risk report and monthly Bond report to Neenans insurance and bond broker
Qualifications
*Associates or bachelors accounting or finance degree a plus
*Construction accounting experience a plus
*Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
*Ability to work effectively independently and in small teams
*Effective communication skills
*Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems independently and within teams
*Strong Computer/Systems Abilities
*Ability to prioritize tasks and work towards multiple deadlines
*Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
*Notary Public certification helpful
*Proficient in the use of the following software programs: Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and Project; CMIC Textura Digital signature software AIA Contract Software and some PowerPoint
*Understand the fundamentals of electronic filing principles
