This is an opportunity for a young aspiring museum professional from an equity-seeking group to gain valuable experience in museum curation interpretation education and research and to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Nova Scotias natural and cultural heritage.

The YCW intern will gain practical work experience and develop marketable skills in collections care research curation interpretation education and communication. They will work alongside and receive on-the-job training and coaching by core Museum staff educated and trained in curation and collections management including the Curator of Mikmaw Cultural Heritage Collections Data Registrar Senior Conservator and Manager of Interpretation.

Additionally through the interns work on the Reducing Barriers to Education Among Former Youth in Care in Atlantic Canada study the intern will make connections amongst academics in Canada and be exposed to methods of sharing research results publicly.

Pay Grade:

Salary Range: $20.00- $Hourly
