Job Description
Tax Accountant State & Local Tax (Location Investment Credits and Incentives) (Manager) (Multiple Positions) (1603357) Ernst & Young U.S. LLP Hoboken NJ.
Analyze an evolving tax portfolio of complex operations to provide meaningful business insights. Develop clear intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients location investment state and local tax credit and incentive activities. Negotiate with federal state and local governments on tax credits and prepare annual compliance reporting filings. Conduct location analyses site due diligence and incentive modelling to help clients determine where to conduct their operations. Identify potential opportunities and risks to communicate to clients. Support and develop staffs overall growth and knowledge and communicate with clients regarding open items issues and follow-up items. Required to obtain a CPA JD or other alternate certifications based on approval from practice leadership within one year from hire date.
Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities in state taxation and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment Monday Friday 40 hours per week 8:30 am 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Law or a related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively will accept a Masters degree in Accounting Finance Business Law or related field and 4 years of work experience.
Must have 4 years of experience with a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting or professional services firm.
Must have 4 years in state and local credits and incentives tax processes and concepts
Must have 4 years of experience with location advisory services developing and administering requests for proposals and negotiating with various levels of economic development authorities
Must have 4 years of experience with Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint
Must have 4 years of experience with location analyses site due diligence and incentive modelling
Must have 4 years of experience with technical writing and research in a tax context
Must have 2 years of experience in managing budgets people and projects
