Responsibilities
- Carries out audits staff training surveillance preventative measures data analysis and infection management
- Ensures adherence to norms and regulations by monitoring and assessing the appropriateness and quality of program activities.
- Oversees the gathering evaluation and upkeep of data for clinical employee health and infection control initiatives throughout the institution.
- Offers assistance with hospital-wide infection control.
- Show that you can recognize the pathways that lead to infectious diseases.
- Examine and research epidemiologic occurrences
- Utilize evidence-based procedures and legal mandates to stop and manage the spread of infectious diseases.
- Maintains collaborative accountability for ensuring Employee Health and Safety is met
- Organises staff training on any new policy and procedures used in the clinics after approval by the governing body
Requirements
- Registered using the active pin on the NMBI live register.
- Accredited qualification in infection control. Certification in specialized practice area preferred
- Two years demonstrable experience as an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse
- Experience in an acute and/or older persons healthcare setting.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Outstanding organizational communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work well and promote a team environment.
