The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for Custodial Supervisor 1 Facilities Management R017501
ROLE of the POSITION
UNLV Facilities Management Custodial Services is currently hiring for a Custodial Supervisor 1. The main job duties for this position are to plan organize and direct overall custodial services for assigned facilities consisting of restrooms offices classrooms conference areas laboratories and special event centers.
Supervisors determine the scope of work to be performed; develop schedules to facilitate the accomplishment of work; train workers on all aspects of custodial work; maintain an inventory of supplies; conduct inspections throughout assigned areas; prepare performance appraisals; take appropriate disciplinary actions; prepare appropriate documentation for personnel actions.
1. Supervise staff by planning organizing and reviewing the work of a custodial crew; conduct inspections throughout assigned areas; evaluate cleanliness and general condition of buildings and equipment; evaluate repairs needed; assign work crews for heavy duty cleaning such as floor and carpet maintenance; ensure compliance with established safety policies (Federal state local) as well as university-wide division-wide and departmental policies and practices.
2. Supervise or conduct training of staff; ensure staff are trained and knowledgeable in all cleaning chemicals supplies methods and techniques required to meet department standards; ensure staff complete all assigned training modules (safety Title IX cybersecurity etc.)
3. Maintain inventories of materials supplies and equipment; replenish stock routinely; provide for the working order of equipment through inspection and maintenance programs. Submit requests for repairs or replacements.
4. Perform administrative work; prepare monthly inspection reports and periodic appraisals for all subordinates; complete timesheet and work order inputs routinely; review emails daily and respond to requests and inquiries promptly; keep and maintain records on projects training work orders and employee files.
5. Attend meetings new equipment demonstrations and developmental training sessions; conduct crew meetings routinely and disseminate accurate information while combating the spread of misinformation.
A valid class C drivers license is required at the time of appointment and all certifications and licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
The shift for this position is for a night shift supervisor; 6:00 pm - 2:30 am Monday - Fridays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-007 ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30 2025. Please refer to the link for more information: valid class C drivers license is required at the time of appointment and all certifications and licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of building custodial and general building maintenance work one year of which must have included lead experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY
Grade 26 Step 1 salary $44370.00. Step means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170) salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
