RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECTLY SUPERVISING:

JOB PURPOSE:
Supports all Human Resource duties directly related to recruiting interviewing hiring and onboarding staff unemployment claims work comp claims benefits administration and other HR related functions and job duties. Updates payroll system. Assist the Human Resource Generalist to ensure that HR policy procedures and processes are implemented in a consistent manner (estimated 60% HR duties). Provides prompt efficient and friendly customer service by assisting all customer inquiries answering incoming phone calls and process customer registrations (estimated 40% CRS duties).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. One year experience in the field of Human Resources preferred.
2. Stays up to date on employment laws policies and best practices and makes recommendations to the Human Resources Generalist.
3. Must have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with coworkers and member agency staff.
4. Must be organized and able to work independently and with others train others and convey a positive attitude to coworkers.
5. Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office software (Excel PowerPoint and Word) and HRIS software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the hiring of all employees including applicant screening and interviews background checks pre-employment physical exams communications and office arrangements.
2. Maintain personnel files for all employees.
3. Support benefit documentation for eligible employees and dependents
4. Serve as support to the Executive Director when requested.
5. Maintains employee confidentiality and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential. Employee information will be used for the purposes of performing their job responsibilities and for no other purpose
6. Assist all FVSRA file collections and the record retention program.
7. Assist Front Office operations and customer service answering phones and providing customer support.
8. Complete patron program registrations using the online registration system.
9. Develop skills and abilities necessary to carry out assigned duties by attendance at meetings workshops in-service training opportunities conferences and other development opportunities.
10. Perform all duties with an appropriate work ethic producing work as required and meeting deadlines as required.
11. Shall be able to understand complex instructions and solve problems related to the task.
12. Shall be able to understand complex problems related to employment situations and identify a variety of solutions to those problems.
13. Open and close the FVSRA offices following security procedures as well as assist in the recording of the daily receipt spreadsheet.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
SAFETY DUTIES & RESONSIBLTIES:
1. Acts quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
2. Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department specific safety rules.
3. Must follow all the safety policies as indicated by the PDRMA Loss Control Program and the FVSRA Safety Manual.
4. Provides information and resources needed for PDRMA Loss Control Program Review meetings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The Human Resources Assistant must with or without reasonable accommodations be able to perform the following functions:
1. Gather load transport and set-up equipment and supplies for activities.
2. Reach storage cabinets or areas to place or retrieve binders or documents.
3. Keyboard information efficiently with a high accuracy rate for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in an office setting occasionally assisting with larger Agency programs or Foundation events. The noise level can range from quiet to loud. When working indoors conditions can include different types of lighting and temperatures. When working outdoors you may be exposed to different types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to elements when driving to meetings or assisting with Agency programs or Foundation events.
Part-Time
