We are looking for a dynamic organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Manager Manufacturing Engineering in Mapleton IL.

TheProduct Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts Integrated Logistics segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals Tubes & Hardware Hose & Couplings Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

As a Manager Manufacturing Engineering you will lead teams supporting operations and manufacturing processes tooling and tool design and equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned parts/products in accordance with engineering specifications. You will be part of promoting Caterpillars values including a safety driven environment.

What You Will Do:

• Oversee manufacturing engineering teams and develop/train the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.
• Lead tool design assembly manufacturing processing cost estimating systems planning layout standards releasing etc.
• Manage development implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods equipment systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
• Lead the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.

What You Have (Required Skills):

• Bachelors degree or higher
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
• Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Knowledge of tools approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide
• Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
• Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate maintain update and store them.
• Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods technologies and processes; ability to execute plan manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers environment and site.
• Manufacturing Standards Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan guide and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

• Previous experience in automation
• Previous experience in a foundry environment and/or with machining
• Six Sigma Blackbelt certification
• Previous experience with maintenance systems
• A Masters degree
