JOB VACANCY

Job Title:Principalfor the 2025/2026 School Year
Location: Kuna Middle School
Hours: Full Time

Salary: Placed on Administrative Pay Scale

Reports To: Principal

Calendar: 210 Days

Purpose:

The Middle School Principal is the instructional leader and chief administrator of the school responsible for promoting a safe inclusive and academically rigorous environment for students in grades 68. This position oversees all aspects of school operations including curriculum implementation staff leadership student behavior school culture parent engagement and operational management.

Qualifications:

Principal:

  • Valid Idaho Education Credential endorsed as School Principal Pre-K-12
  • At leastthree (3) years of administration experience
  • At least four (4) years of successful classroom teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below
  • Positive public relations skills
  • Other qualifications as prescribed by the School Board

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Align your behaviors with improving student achievement through the use of best research practices for school administrators.
  2. Prioritize your time so you can serve as the instructional leader of the building.
  3. Lead your school improvement process.
  4. Actively participate in the district improvement process.
  5. Proactively work with your administrative colleagues in order to produce synergetic results.
  6. Build collaborative teams within your schools involving teachers and all staff members.
  7. Build collaborative partnerships with your external school stakeholders.
  8. Create a positive school climate through open communication.
  9. Conduct regular staff meetings.
  10. Keep the superintendent informed of the schools activities and problems.
  11. Participate in administrative meetings and other meetings as are required or appropriate.
  12. Work with the Superintendent Educational Services and Support Services on district programs and related problems.
  13. Participate in the recruiting screening selecting training assigning and evaluating of the schools staff.
  14. Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school; inform teachers of such policies and carry out duties as prescribed by district administration and the School Board.
  15. Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports records lists and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the schools administration including all financial and accounting functions and library activities.
  16. Participate in the administering of the schools budgeted allocations.
  17. Orient newly assigned staff members and assist in their educational development.
  18. Supervise and evaluate classroom instruction.
  19. Schedule field trips parties assemblies and other school activities.
  20. Provide for supervision of students.
  21. Establish and carry out a policy of discipline that will allow the school to function smoothly and safely.
  22. Provide available accommodations for related service providers and assist in their supervision.
  23. Establish a parent advisory team focused on improving student achievement.
  24. Be available for conferences with parents and assist teachers in parent-teacher conferences.
  25. Deal with students parents staff and others in a positive proactive and encouraging manner.
  26. Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
  27. Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
  28. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
