Job Description

Overview:

  • Full-time Fixed-term position until 31 July 2026

  • Salary Level HEW 5 17% Superannuation

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the role

As Marketing and Recruitment Assistant you will be a member of the Domestic School Leaver Student Recruitment team and support team members to actively promote RMIT courses to future students through enquiries (email phone chat and face-to-face) large-scale events campus tours physical and virtual presentations school and career expos and the Tertiary Information Service (TIS).

This role also supports administrative processes and procedures and works on major projects and events under the leadership of the Student Recruitment team. You will assist with planning implementing and delivery of current and new initiatives to drive enrolments for the university.

Please note: this role involves some driving between sites and regular after-hours work. A valid Victorian drivers licence is required for this role.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to assist in planning events and coordinating tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently when needed while also being a reliable and positive team member.

  • Excellent communication skills including confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders presenting to large audiences reporting and providing updates.

  • Attention to detail and an ability to assist in tracking project tasks and ensuring accurate record-keeping or reporting.

  • Interest in using insights and feedback (e.g. from events campaigns or surveys) to help improve future student recruitment and engagement initiatives.

  • Willingness to learn and use digital tools and platforms e.g. for CRM and event registration software.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate with a variety of people to support shared goals.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular hours including evenings or weekends and travel if required.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

About the Portfolio

The Experience Portfolio leads and coordinates the Universitys industry engagement marketing student recruitment fundraising and alumni activity providing services to internal and external clients and stakeholders. The business units within the Experience portfolio are Alumni Digital University Lifecycle Marketing Admissions and Global Student Recruitment.
