Administrative Assistant
Supervisor:Superintendent/Treasurer
Summary/Objective: Complete a variety of secretarial/clerical work in order to support the effective operation of the Educational Service Center and Council of Governments. Primary areas of responsibility include but are not limited to support of the fiscal office transportation operations and food service operations at the ESC as well as support of the COGs cooperative purchasing program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Hold or complete a current Ohio BCI and Federal Background check free of disqualifying infractions
- Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
- Strong keyboarding and general office skills
- Efficiently operate Google Applications including Gmail Drive Sheets Docs etc.
- Able to create written communications and complete required reports
- Participate (and pass where applicable) in all required training including but not limited to: Bloodborne Pathogens Crisis Intervention Educator Ethics etc.
- Embody high ethical standards integrity and accept responsibility for decisions and conduct
- Adhere to the ESC Governing Board policies/administrative guidelines/staff handbook policies of the assigned district/worksite and to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators
- Promote the proper use care and security of ESC property and report misconduct vandalism equipment malfunctions and other concerns
- Advance the professional image of the ESC and affiliate districts
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and colleagues promoting a cohesive work environment
- Report suspected child abuse and/or neglect to supervisor and/or civil authorities as required by law
- Ensure the safety of all students
- Maintain confidentiality of student related information
Essential Functions:
- Provide secretarial/clerical support services for the Superintendent.
- Perform full range of secretarial/clerical duties for the effective administration of the ESC fiscal office transportation operations food service operations and/or the COGs cooperative purchasing program.
- Collect necessary data maintain records and prepare and submit reports for district services and programs as required.
- Answer routine correspondence independently; process all confidential correspondence information and reports in an appropriate manner as required.
- Maintain records as required by law policy and administrative guidelines.
- Requisition acquire and stock material supplies and equipment as needed to operate the building efficiently (including the central office and all conference rooms).
- Meet the professional expectations of attendance suitable attire and decorum.
- Perform other specific duties as assigned

- Work at various heights in confined spaces and/or invariable/diminished lighting
- Report misconduct or violations of policy and procedures to the direct supervisor appropriate administrator or legal authority (mandated reporting)
