Job Title: Residential Supervisor Evening Shift
Exempt/Non-exempt: NON-EXEMPT
Immediate Supervisor: Senior Program Manager
Compensation Range: $24 - $26
Essential Functions:
- Primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective daily operations of the residential unit this role involves direct oversight of the living environment supervision and coordination of direct care staff and Behavioral Specialists completion of managerial administrative tasks and rotating on-call duties all while ensuring effective team collaboration communication and adherence to schedules. May transport youth to various activities.
- Flexibility in work hours is required including the evening shift Monday-Friday from 2pm-10pm as well as rotating weekends and on-call shifts.
- Make final decisions on duty delegation addressing immediate resident needs and providing emotional support conflict resolution and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Implement monitor and manage behavior plans ensuring positive behavior reinforcement and adherence to disciplinary policies.
- Assist in delivering therapeutic educational and recreational programs encouraging resident participation and engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities incidents progress reports and ensure timely entry of unusual incident reports into the DCFS system.
- Ensure medication compliance and proper documentation.
- Conduct regular safety checks ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining a secure environment.
- Manage logistical tasks including ordering office supplies placing food deliveries and completing the Program Weekly Plan.
- Create staff schedules provide supervision to direct reports and facilitate communication between residents staff and administration.
- Participate in recruitment activities conducting interviews and training new staff on responsibilities and procedures.
- Ensure all staff are trained and compliant with DCFS regulations and standards.
- Share on-call responsibilities and participate in youth staffing providing input on program engagement and behavior.
- Develop curriculum for group sessions and formulate group activities.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills relevant to residential care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Strong understanding of residential care practices for adolescents ensuring compliance with DCFS standards.
- Skilled in implementing behavior management plans and addressing disciplinary issues effectively.
- Proficient in providing emotional support conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
- Proven ability to supervise and coordinate staff fostering effective teamwork and communication.
- Competent in managing records scheduling and other administrative tasks with accuracy.
- Experienced in training and developing staff ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and make decisions under pressure.
- Capable of working flexible hours including on-call responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelors degree in social work psychology or a related field is required along with at least 3 years of experience in a residential care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DCFS regulations and compliance requirements ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and best practices in residential care.
Physical Demands and Other Requirements:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed in the job description satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of operating standard office equipment including a computer and keyboard calculator typical business machines such as a fax machine and copier. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to have valid drivers license auto insurance and must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. The work environment characteristics include a noise level which is usually low to moderate.

- Communication/ Interpersonal Skills: Consistently conveys clear accurate timely and respectful communication appropriate for the situation. Informs appropriate management staff when incident occurs or a crisis situation. Maintains professional boundaries with clients/residents staff interns volunteers and vendors. Able to successfully share skills and concepts with others and works effectively with others under time and environmental pressures.
- Safety and Agency Resource Utilization: Demonstrates sound judgement and foresight in safety awareness and in daily work. Notifies in a timely manner the supervisory chain of any incidents or circumstances that need attention. Report all suspicions or allegations of abuse immediately to their supervisor. Ensures appropriate utilization of materials and resources and minimizes waste.
