The Bridgewater State University EXCEL Program is hiring Education/Job Coaches!The EXCEL Program at Bridgewater State University (BSU) is a fully inclusive postsecondary program for young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Students in the EXCEL program share the same experiences as BSU undergraduate students in the areas of academics socialization professional development self-advocacy and independent living. The EXCEL Program offers four options for participation: EXCEL Partnership EXCEL Certificate EXCEL Transition and EXCEL Vocational. Education/Job Coach hours can vary and applicants must have a flexible schedule. The EXCEL Team will work with the schedule of the right candidates. EXCEL Education/Job Coaches provide support for BSU EXCEL students enrolled in academic and vocational courses. This position provides support to students as they participate in on and off campus on-the-job-training sites. This position also supports students on campus as they attend classes socialize with peers and participate in campus clubs and activities. An Education/Job Coach provides individualized 1:1 supports to students with disabilities while fostering growth toward independence helping develop daily living skills promoting students self-determination and track progress using program evaluation tools. EXCEL Education/Job Coaches receive training and ongoing support from program staff. There is also an opportunity for the Education/Job coach to further their own training in college or vocational trade courses where the Education/Job coach works with a college student with a disability and both achieve their goals.
