As a Maintenance Engineer you would be responsible for executing your positions responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitor maintain repair and carry out the maintenance programs on the hotels support equipment including but not limited to boilers cooling towers pumps compressors domestic water systems water testing HVAC deli equipment and kitchen equipment.
Maintain repair and install appliances throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation.
Maintain repair and install electrical equipment throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation.
Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function
Report all deficiencies and items that cannot be readily repaired to Supervisor
Due to the cyclic nature of the business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by Leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent
Prior Maintenance experience required
Prior Supervisory experience preferred
OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work the second shift consistently
Has thorough knowledge and understanding of general repairs and maintenance.
Must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills; will be interfacing with a high percentage of guests as well as other staff members.
Must be flexible to work all shifts may be required to work overtime on occasion when the department is short of staff.
The ability to listen learn be helpful in all situations and make the best sound decisions toward the resolution of a potential problem.
Due to the nature of the hotel being open 365 days per year (24/7) and a variety of start times for events etc. all candidates must be flexible to work varying schedules to accommodate the business needs of the hotel. All candidates MUST be available to work
both during the week as well as on weekends/holidays and there is no guarantee of a set work schedule.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Due to the nature of the hotel being open 365 days per year (24/7) and a variety of start times for events etc. all candidates must be flexible to work varying schedules to accommodate the business needs of the hotel. All candidates MUST be available to work both during the week as well as on weekends/holidays and there is no guarantee of a set work schedule.
Must be able to speak read write and understand English.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke.
Able to push pull carry or lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the work day.
The physical ability to stand and/or walk continuously for duration of shift.
The physical ability to climb stairs balance bend/stoop and kneel continuously.
Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways or escalator.
The physical ability to frequently crouch push/pull squat and work above the shoulders with both arms.
The physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping.
Attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust loud noises and bright lights.
The physical ability to push pull and lift various furniture items such as mattresses end tables chairs ottomans lamps and tables.
The physical ability to tolerate any required personal protective equipment such as gloves safety glasses safety goggles and other protective equipment deemed appropriate on a continuous basis.
Ability to safely operate motorized equipment
