Key responsibilities:
- Be integral to the delivery of technical projects producing high quality deliverables and working both independently and as part of a team.
- Play a fundamental role in the development of other team members.
- Able to use problem solving skills on challenging in radioactive waste management issues.
- Knowledge of the radioactive waste management lifecycle and be able to align approaches across the project and applicable national policies and legislation.
- Develop an open environment of continuous improvement of project/ programme including performing environmental permitting and assessment requirements (e.g. BPM).
- Maintain a strong customer focus and able to maintain and develop client relationships.
- Able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and qualifications:
- Degree in a physical science OR equivalent training/experience
- Significant proven experience in radioactive waste management with a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
- Proven experience in two or more of the following: decommissioning characterisation disposability assessments application of the environmental legislation production of BAT/BPM assessments DQO application and waste assay techniques.
- Able to prioritise based on business needs and lead on certain projects.
