Department and the team
We are now looking for a design engineer to join the Technology Management Maintenance group where we are responsible for design work on our gasoline-powered chainsaws currently in production. We work with maintenance and general improvement efforts handle quality issues cost improvements as well as drawing and CAD documentation always with the customer in focus. The group consists of about 14 coworkers working as design engineers and platform owners. In your role you will have close contact with various Husqvarna departments manufacturing units and suppliers around the world.

About the role

As a design engineer you are responsible for one or more product-related matters and drive improvement efforts toward set goals. We work methodically and in a structured way in close collaboration with several other departments. You play a central role in our continuous work to deliver products of the right quality to our customers.

In this role you will also work with:

  • Root cause analysis
  • Concept generation of possible design improvements using CATIA-V5
  • Drawings and updates of product structures in our PLM system SmarTeam

We primarily work with plastic rubber and lightweight metal constructions where the challenge is to gather data and requirements and perform accurate analyses to improve and optimize products.

The chainsaws are manufactured in several locations around the world and the role includes international collaboration where quality and cost improvements are central. We constantly strive to enhance the customer experience. Production takes place in several countries including Sweden USA Brazil and China so a few follow-up trips per year may occur.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree engineer with a focus on mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Working experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Fluent in Swedish and English both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working in CATIA V5.
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic materials and lightweight metals.
  • Experience with simulations or calculations.
  • Experience working in PLM systems such as SmarTeam or Teamcenter.
  • Experience in designing molded components.
