Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach and Engagement with clients
Pre- and post-treatment support
Assessment and Referrals
Inform clients and the community (landlords property management companies other agencies etc.) about the Womens Supportive Housing Program
Assist admitted Womens Supportive Housing clients in locating suitable accommodations / rental units
Accompany clients to view rental units negotiate rental rates assist with paperwork to secure units
Individual Counselling
Development of case plans based on client-centred recovery goals
Networking with community agencies
Crisis/Conflict Intervention
Client documentation
Community Follow-up
Facilitate Community Treatment groups (on an as needed basis for coverage)
Attend team meetings as required
Team Consultation and Decision-Making
Report to Program Coordinator of Addiction Outreach Programs
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized institution (in one of the human services professions) including qualification to enter a Provincially Regulated College
Minimum 3 years experience working in the addiction/mental health sector
CACCF/ICADC Certification an asset
Understanding of the continuum of substance use and concurrent disorders
Knowledge and experience in women centered problematic substance use counselling interventions / treatment models
Knowledge and experience of concurrent disorders
Understanding of trauma in relation to substance use
Knowledge of culturally competent practices
Maintain client records / files according to agency standards
The ability to work individually and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
The ability to work collaboratively with community partners
Knowledge and experience with data management systems particularly EHMware

40 hours per week - Monday through Friday
Clear Vulnerable Sector screen required
Position is unionized wage is set as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $22.97 to $22.97 with a maximum of $22.97.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
