Job Description

Position: Educational Assistant II - Specialized Support Model Team Member

Hours of Work: 6 hours per day for the same work days as teachers including all non-instructional days
Travel: Division wide travel is required


Duties:
The successful EAII will be a member of a specialized support model team. The team will consist of 1 consultant 1 classroom teacher and 1 educational assistant. The specialized support model team will work in various schools supporting classrooms with self-regulation.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of the Incredible Years language and philosophies
  • Be familiar with the Zones of Regulation and/or Little Spot
  • Bring strengths in collaboration data collection AAC and building independence
  • Be able to take initiative and be a natural problem-solver
  • Have experience supporting students with a variety of diagnoses (Autism ODD ADHD etc.)
  • Have an inclusive and growth mindset
  • Have strong self-regulation and co-regulation skills
  • Be able to flex their hours occasionally to provide evening support (for example during parent presentations)

Education & Qualifications:

Physical Requirements: The ability to do heavy work is required in some assignments (i.e. exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to lift students and/or move objects).

Wage & Benefits: In accordance with the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently this is a range of $22.16 to $27.28 per hour.
