SUMMARY:
Direct the overall management of a set pharmacy region to achieve continued growth and profitability. In addition to monitoring the day-to-day operations and financial performance of each pharmacy ensure compliance with all company operating standards and expectations the Ontario College of Pharmacists and any other applicable regulations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and monitor operational objectives pertaining to such things as sales margin shrink labor controllable expenses contribution pharmacy services superior customer service and any other current emerging priorities
- Develop unique strategies by pharmacy to meet or exceed operational objectives
- Recruit and selectively hire top candidates for Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist positions (including unionized employees as required)
- Train and develop Pharmacy Managers (and other staff members as required) capable of achieving operational objectives and effective overall management of the pharmacy providing active regular feedback as required
- Conduct performance reviews of each Pharmacy Manager
- Conduct Pharmacy Operations Audits to assess compliance
- Accountable for ensuring pharmacies meet OTC operational standards
- Meet regularly with each Pharmacy Manager to review overall Pharmacy performance including P&L financials shrink results operational deficiencies and implement corrective measures as required
- Visit each pharmacy regularly on average once per period to ensure both store and operational standards are in place and identify best practices/deficiencies for review
- During each visit meet with store management to develop store relations and to provide/receive department feedback
- Ensure each pharmacy is compliant with all company operating standards and expectation OCP and any other applicable regulatory bodies
- Address all store level operational issues - Visit competition regularly to identify new or changing competitor activity
- Responsible for ensuring the pharmacy is open all posted operating hours
- On call overnight stay (district or event dependent)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- . or PharmD degree
- Registered Part A Pharmacist with OCP in good standing
- 3-5 years experience as a pharmacist
- Prior pharmacy management experience
- Proficient with current dispensing software and MS Office
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Strong organization and effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
