Job Description
- We are hiring immediately for full timeLANDSCAPER II positions.
- Location: TAMU - 600 Agronomy Road College Station TX 77843. Note: online applications accepted only.
- Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. More details upon interview.
- Requirement: Valid drivers license required. Previous landscaping/hardscaping experience required.
- Pay Range: $13.00per hour to$17.50per hour

Job Summary
Summary:Cultivates and maintains landscaping and grounds surrounding campus buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs demolition and put-back work for exterior construction. Involves dirt work irrigation sod preparation and hardscape put backs.
- Remediates soil damage caused by construction and affiliated activities on Campus grounds working in tandem with other SSC departments in these efforts to assist.
- Documents locations worked on parts and materials used and the hours spent at each location.
- Performs small concrete/masonry jobs as needed. Must be amenable to learning flatwork trades.
- Determines and plants appropriate seeds bulbs foliage flowering plants grass ground covers trees and shrubs.
- Uses gardening tools to apply mulch for protection.
- Attaches wires from planted trees to support stakes.
- Interprets construction documents and successfully implements the design.
- Operates construction-related equipment as needed.
- Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects; follows all safety protocol.
- Attends training as required.
- Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather i.e. snow and ice tornado or other crisis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in landscape construction.
- Valid drivers license.
- Basic ability to interpret and implement construction documents.
- Intermediate ability to operate construction-related equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Extensive driving walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions pesticides fertilizers pollen producing environment paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation: 90% of time will be physical labor 10% training and misc.
